Role: Lead Game Designer

Description: Four players are pitted against one another to retrieve the most treasure and return it to their base. Players are competing for the highest score in the given time limit. Not only do the players have to worry about other players killing them and stealing the treasure but they also have to avoid many other deadly obstacles.

Contribution: As lead game designer I created and balanced a lot of the mechanics and power ups. It was key for me to make sure the mechanics worked and flowed well with four players, so no one felt they were playing on uneven playing field.

I focused on the ascetic of the game and gameplay as well as the control scheme. The feeling I strived to create was that of ‘easy to pick up but hard to master’. Super Dimensional also has the wacky/arcade feel as we wanted players to keep coming back because it is a good laugh and great fun. One of the ways I created with team was having the obstacles procedurally generate so even if an expert player plays new comers the advantage will be in the skill not the level.
