FYP: Atmosphere

Hey guys,

For the mobile platformer I am creating, I said I have been working on the polish of the levels and I wanted to increase the atmosphere again for the level with music, sounds and a background. I have been thinking about what I would like and I was thinking a cave with an infrastructure of bridges and buildings, making the player wonder what else was out there. For inspiration I looked at the mines of moria concept art. I spoke to a friend of mine called Simon Went who is creating the background for the level. Here is the first draft of just the cave:

We discussed about adding in the bridges and other building etc, we will also be discussing the lighting so the colour pallets match. I am really pleased with his work so far as he is a great concept artist and check out his work!

I have been looking around for a number of sounds and music which I can add into the game. The main level music I have chosen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYNGSZ8BAXg I chose this as it fits in with the theme, creates tension but is not too intense.  For the Menu I wanted to use something a little bit more relaxing the calm before the storm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cCaWernwqA .

Sound fx for the gems being picked up, game complete and smashing through doors have been implemented, more will be added soon.
