FYP: HUD

Hey guys,

One of the feed back was to input a scoring system into the game other than just gem collection. I gave it some thought and he was correct so I decided to add this into the game.

I then had to figure out what would effect the score of the player and how would the player earn points? I had done some studying about scores and how you want to make the number a big number as in the players mind it makes them they feel they have accomplished a lot. So with the base score I came up with this scoring system.

– 10,000 for completing the level

– 2000 per gem collected

– 5000 for collecting all the gems

– 2000 for each life kept

– 5000 for keeping all lives.

I have the system up and running in the game and have it in the HUD as I have changed the HUD a bit here and there to make it easier for players to understand.

Another thing I added into the game was the restart button, I had been meaning to add this into the game for ages but just never got round to doing it. It works as well, there is a couple of bugs I still have to fix with the button but it seems to work fine other than them.

Once I have finished working on those bugs I will then start level 2 and focus just on the charge mechanic on that level.
